关于 Minutes to Midnight

"Minutes to Midnight"想要表达出的其实就是"世界末日钟（Doomsday Clock）"的概念。"世界末日钟"是源自于美国二次世界大战时期，当美国在日本长崎及广岛投下两颗原子弹之后，在1974年由一群芝加哥大学研究原子科学的科学家们所一起创立的概念。科学家们以"世界末日钟"这个虚拟的定时器，来警惕人类将因过度使用核武，而导致自我灭亡。
而"Midnight" 午夜，所代表的就是灭亡时刻。在二次世界大战之后，由于核武疯狂急速地发展，世界末日钟的时针一度被推进到距离代表世界末日的午夜不到15分钟的时间，甚至在1960年代美苏冷战、核武竞争时期，时针还曾被推进到只剩3分钟(11点57分)。而目前在经过前前后后18次调整之后，在核武、天气异常、及环境污染的影响之下，世界距离毁灭的午夜时分也只剩五分钟的时间。

这张专辑所比喻的"午夜"的概念，不单单只有指涉地球遭到人类破坏的这种巨观层面，同时也映像出Linkin Park自我的微观层面。"午夜"所代表的"终结"同样也呼应Linkin Park在音乐上面的改变，因为所有和Linkin Park一同成长的信徒们，将在这张最新专辑里发现Linkin Park的全新面貌，过去大家所熟悉的Linkin Park将毁灭消失，Linkin Park将以崭新姿态解构重生。

关于 Leave Out All The Rest

第一次接触“林肯公园 （Linkin Park）”时，并不喜欢他们的曲风，感觉很乱，很吵。那时对linkin park了解不多。Leave Out All The Rest 是我喜欢的第一首Linkin Park的歌，当时在英语广场上看到歌词和简介，感觉歌词很棒，很有深度。后来发现歌曲创作得也很好，氛围的渲染，演唱得激情，一切都是那么到位。听的时候总会隐隐的带着种共鸣。这首的的歌词是最吸引我的地方，差不多所有我喜欢的Linkin Park的歌都喜欢的是歌词。只记得Leave Out All The Rest的歌词被英语广场翻译的“淋漓尽致”，不过现在找不到那个译文版本了。或许对于懂英文的人来说不翻译才是最好的。

Linkin Park的《What I've Done》以蒙太奇的手法，将近半世纪在地球上发生过足以影响所有人类、动物、植物生存权的大件事记录下来，包括：政治的纷乱、种族冲突造成无谓的战争杀戮、环保意识不彰造成自然生态崩解、百年冰川消融、北极熊等珍贵的生物濒临绝种、人类面对世纪末的仓皇不安，以吸毒等极端的手段暂实逃离现实等等。
